Dean Martian takes the New Orleans traditional styles and merges them with the creative stylings of his inner demons and a top notch group of musicians to bring you an original sound with comfortably familiar blues and jazz roots. Dean came to CA on the winds of Hurricane Katrina, and spent what seemed like a lifetime unable to play guitar due to tragically losing mobility in his fret hand. After 6 long years of physical therapy, Dean Martian is back. Recently signed to S.F. label Light Rail Records, Dean has been on the path to reclaiming his previous status in the music industry. Before the accident, Dean was with Ruby Arts Entertainment amongst the likes of Kermit Ruffins and Irma Thomas. He has opened up for legendary acts such as The Specials, Dave Wakeling, Desmond Dekker, Chaka Kahn, Bell Biv Devoe, Dr. John, and Reel Big Fish to name a few. You can currently find Dean Martian in the SF Bay Area playing at venues like The Starry Plough Pub, Ivy Room, Hotel Utah, Café International and 50 Mason Social House. |
